lifting off the page

Brian and I have been talking. We’ve been wondering about how we might turn the ‘breath’ lines into a sculpture, “lifting them off the page” and “making the lines stand up”. We thought about galvanised wire or dipping wool in resin? A similar chat with Frances was around trying different materials, we considered silly string as too excitable and floppy, wool being too loose unless fixed with something, bathroom sealant (silicone) squeezed out in tubes but again how to make it stand up? That’s aside from Avril’s description this morning of making parts for propellors, using a heat process to burn off the gloopy alginate. Mmm that’s the current 3D thoughts, however, after watching Sylvia and Doreen’s energetic piece and their resulting artwork I feel compelled to get the scapel out! With their permission of course, it’s just a thought to remove all the blank spaces.

Lace breaths? Lace movements?  I’ll get back to you on this one.
