the skipping limbo experiment

The past few sessions were about experimentation. Our ideas came from the prop we were using, a giant red piece of lycra. I like to use texture and colours in a lot of my dance work to enhance the movements we do. This time the texture and colour directly influenced what we did and it was great to see all the new ideas that came from using it.

We had all sorts of fun playing games with lycra, dressing in lycra, reaching and moving through lycra and breathing with the lycra. Energy levels were high and people were having so much fun they ignored any pain and moved for enjoyment.

Some quotes that stuck in my mind…
“I can’t remember the last time I skipped, possibly 50 years.”
“Stupid games are wasted on the young”
