In Chalk and Higham we have been using our voices, not only to make unusual sounds, but to tell stories with a twist and turn. The introduction of instruments, used as prompts or sound effects has added a different dynamic to the stories, moving from scary to western and romantic to sci-fi. Tania has explored with us different pitches and levels of the voice using varying techniques, which helped towards adding character to our stories.
Moving onto back to back, Wendy encouraged us to use descriptive words. We have drawn a range of obscure objects and quite successfully, from a torch to wizard and fish to a sheep. Challenging us to use words to describe shapes, patterns and lines, rather than describing what it actually is.
Next week we’ll have more movement and visual art to explore. So watch this space.
